My Main Page

Welcome to crysaliq's homepage, located in Bellingham, Washington, USA. crys, as he is affectionately called, is a student attending the School of Hard Knocks right now. The following page is dedicated to those who are interested in the search for truth. He's found a few pieces here and there.. and wants to share. The first? That laughing at people's foibles, as well as our own, may be natural, but it isn't righteous. The second? That the democratic world is stuck in the notion that right and wrong need to be defined by the masses to the point that they can't easily be determined by simple examination of God's Scriptures.. a notion that has been propagated in the extreme by centuries of "Biblical scholars" who don't read the Bible properly, but who are accepted as truly knowledgeable Christians simply because they have the "chapter and verse" memorized for many various Scriptures, along with much of what's said.. at least according to their own definitions.. but not according to God's. Thus so many people think that the Bible's wealth of truth is inaccessible by all but the elite "Christian".. when God promises *in* His Scriptures that all who seek Him with all their heart will find Him. Thus anyone who truly reads the Bible with a mind that is interested solely in the truth, and not in putting their own spin on it, will find the truths in its pages.. and thus, often run headlong into the faces of those who have been preaching their own self-concocted or multi-century-believed lies, but who are accepted by the contemporary society of "Christians" to truly be "in the know".

The U.S. Constitution says in its First Amendment "Congress shall make no law concerning the establishment of a religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof." This is simply a mandate that prohibits the lawmaking bodies of the U.S. from making laws to punish those who are either practicing their own religion, or who do not adhere to a state decided religion which Congress would have to choose. This is *not* a statement against those in government making statements in and of their own free will for or against any sect that calls itself a religion. It is simply a statement that Congress is not allowed to make a means to prosecute those who are practicing their religion, nor is it allowed to establish one such sect as a religion which all people in the U.S. must become members of or lose benefits as U.S. citizens.
Truth be told, however.. Congress and all of government's agents that have become instruments that are being used to pursue justice against those who do wrong by what Congress has detailed to be inappropriate conduct via its own laws need to back down and not pursue justice as a means to eradicate crime. Rather, they need to be loving their enemies (in the case of a nonbeliever) and in the case of a believer, they need to go by what Jesus said in Matthew 18.. and what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5.. if the crime is believer against believer, then the one who committed the crime/sin needs to repent/apologize.. and then will be forgiven. First the crime is taken one on one between the perpetrator and the victim.. If no repentance occurs, then the crime needs to be brought before 1 or 2 others.. If still no repentance occurs, then it needs to be brought before the local church body. And if after that, there is still no repentance.. then the perpetrator needs to be kicked out of the fellowship. If a crime is simply against God.. and the person is not interested in repenting.. then if it's heinous enough (as given examples in 1 Cor 5), the perpetrator needs to be kicked out of the fellowship and delivered unto satan for the destruction of the flesh.. that his soul might come to its senses and repent before he dies.. and find place back with the Body of Christ again.
I find nothing wrong with a group of people at the head of society deciding what is valid and invalid conduct in society.. only that when it comes to a person's religion, it cannot be lawed out or lawed in exclusively so as to take away a person's standing as a U.S. citizen if they are not part of said sect of religion. Plus.. since justice is handed out simply by kicking a person out of fellowship.. and delivering unto satan.. (something which I am quite secure as to its ability to work miracles.. both in the lives of perpetrators and victims). Jesus told us to "judge not".. so who are we to punish sin? We are to, as Paul said, give place unto wrath.. meaning God's wrath.. for those who are adamant about continuing their sin when confronted with it and given a hand up if they are merely overtaken in it, and not simply being obstinate in their behavior. Yet if it is determined that the said behavior of a person does not denote a valid part of a valid religion, then said conduct *should* *then* be outlawed.. but not punished except according to the above standard.

You might be asking yourself how such a change could be demanded by God and Jesus.. and how such could be so righteous in light of all the attempts at seeking justice which are made daily. Well, I would hazard a guess to say that the ways of God are not the ways of man.. and that the way of the New Covenant between God and man is far different from that of the Old Covenant.. where justice was pursued. Yet now Jesus says, "You hear it has been said, 'An eye for an eye' and 'A tooth for a tooth', but I say to you, unto him who strikes you on the one cheek, turn to him the other." Life under the New Covenant is not meant to be one of trying to find a home on this Earth, for this life anymore.. but rather a home in God's Kingdom for eternity. We need to be focused.. not on finding some domicile and job to make us happy in this life.. but rather, upon living for God's purposes as Jesus told them to us. Oh.. and about Romans 13. Paul called the governing authorities God's ministers.. in other words.. God's agents.. But that in no way means that such ministers need to be kept free from Jesus' call in the Gospel for all men to love their enemies. Paul may simply have been talking about unbelieving-as-yet rulers.. who still dispensed justice. If he *was* saying that all rulers have the right to use the sword for dispensing God's wrath, then he was wrong. All people.. rulers included.. are called by God through Jesus to love the criminal.. even praying for their forgiveness should they assassinate said rulers.. just as Jesus did His assassins.

"For though they knew of God, they did not glorify Him as God.. but became vain in their own thoughts as their own wisdom was self-darkened."

This is my own slightly augmented translation of Romans 1:21. Basically.. it talks about how people have an interesting habit -- of knowing about the existence of God, but who refuse to glorify Him as the real God. In verse 23, it goes on to say that such people glorified things in creation instead of Him.. and ended up making their own definitions of God(god(s)) through creation of idols that they chose to worship, instead. Yet since man was designed by the real God to rule over creation, by saying that the 'god' of the world/universe is something like what we can see in creation, we end up super-deifying ourselves (making ourselves to be even greater than He).

Though a lot of people do worship idols... many people who do not worship idols.. and who even consider themselves "Christians".. are also guilty of this sin... as they worship a 'god' of their own making in their mind, rather than the real God. This is why so many churches exist... They are all creating, for themselves, their own ideas of who God is.. and putting Him in a box that lets them superdeify themselves, rather than adjure true humility in their own hearts.

Tons of people.. throughout the world, are holding onto an "image" of 'god' that is far from Who He truly is. Yet due to the power of the strong (which is much fueled by the strength of the unquestioning) people proudly run heartlessly after doctrines about a 'god' who does not require trueness of them, but who requires oh so little that truly measures up as weighty in the true God's measuring scales... lacking love, and all such depths of moral conviction that follow true love.

The question I ask of any of you who reads this page is this:

Do you serve a God of your own making.. who makes you feel good about yourself for faulty reasons..? Or do you hold true to who the real God truly is.. even when Christians tell you you're wrong?

The Gospel in Today's Language

God knows we, in and of our own strength, cannot stop all the wrong we naturally do -- and thus does not blame us for our inability. However.. He *does* expect us to have a right attitude toward wrongdoing -- both acknowledging wrongdoing to be truly wrong, *and* being willing to turn a 180 to all wrongdoing, in as much as we are able to do so -- realizing that He alone can cleanse us from the stain of the wrong we are doing and have done, and that only His strength, which He offers liberally, is strong enough to stop us from wronging Him and others.
It is proper (more than mental) faith in Jesus which stirs God to cleanse us from all our wrongdoing -- both in acknowledging Jesus' identity (as God's only perfect Son) and accepting Jesus' Lordship / position of ruler over every facet of our lives (both accepting and living out that Lordship).
To accept and continue in this only cure for our inborn condition is what stirs God to give us an eternal life without any more woes of any kind. To refuse it is to refuse the one and only cure for our condition, and to despise God's love for offering such a supremely benevolent cure. Such despising, if never turned from, is what merits Hell / eternal torment.

The power and pain of the internet

Part of the problem lies in the fact that.. people have toted the name of Christ for so long, and all the while stained His name.. so our current generation is *VERY* skeptical about what someone claiming to be Christian is saying. And since the internet is mostly only a place where you talk to interact... when people end up hearing talk about God and Jesus.. they don't see much of a walk to back it up.. Thus they simply.. much out of confusion that so many "Christians" have been so *UNChristian*.. discount anything anyone claiming to be Christian says... on the mere status that the past seems to conclude such an action as called for.

Our two questions that follow must be:
a) Are we willing to accept Jesus as Who He truly Is, in light of so many people claiming to know Him but acting otherwise?
b) Are we willing to point out the flaws in poor, false, and cultish ministries, and have the flaws removed from our own walk, so that others can see the real Christ in us?

As you can tell by the page, I am a Christian (or struggling to be one anyway). I have had numerous struggles in my life trying to find the love of God, yet one thing is certain, His judgement is sure and guaranteed. For those of you who wonder about just how fair it might be, take a peek at this.
I wrote this recently after thinking about how I was treated when I was younger. Maybe it'll remind you of others around you.
Just an aside, be careful about believing everything you read into what you read.

On June 30, 1997, I came upon what I believe to be two of the biggest lies which plague the hearts of mankind. Perhaps you might be interested in what they are?
Here's a little file those of you in the U.S. might find useful -- it talks about something rather close to home.
Strangers are lying all around us. We wonder, are they real, or are they memorex.. playing a tape which is a collage of people they want to be. Well, here's a story about a person who wanted to be only one person.. me.
For those of you who are looking for the answer to life, the universe, and everything -- look into Jesus' eyes.
Jesus has showed me quite a few things in the past few years.. if you're interested in seeing a little on the subject of the NET in general, and the relationships people have on it, take a peek at this. :)
And as you can plainly see, life isn't all smiles for me.
Have you ever had a day where you find all the answers, and almost lose your life in the process? Well.. that's what seemed to happen when I wrote this. I hope you find it useful.
And if you dare to read this far, you might find...

Oh, and for those of you who are wondering, I did see an image of Jesus.. but it wasn't smiling -- I now know why.

A little poem I wrote the other day about flowers.

Have you ever had a real trouble grasping God's love for you? Try reading this poem I just wrote.. it might help.
